TTA’s Free Webinar with VIA’s Tremell Brown and Mark Witherell to address transit agency concerns about House Bill 1927/Permitless Carry   (Presented on 8/31/21) 

VIA’s Tremell E. Brown and Mark Witherell provided key elements, protocols, and preparation that transit agencies should consider regarding operator/employee/customer education along with expectations as they relate to service impacts and safe service delivery in response to the new Permitless Carry Law which will go into effect on September 1, 2021.

A few of the topics that were discussed:

• Brief overview of HB 1927
• Provided an explanation of how HB 1927 will affect public transportation and how agencies can address challenges that may arise effectively to maintain safe spaces and footprints of transit-related scenarios.
